Student Profile

Amanda Hunt

I am a Masters student in Environmental Studies at SUNY-ESF. My research focuses on the tensions and conflicts provoked by the “green” energy transition. More specifically, I am studying how local and Native community members were involved in the permitting/planning process for the largest lithium mine in the United States, Thacker Pass Mine–which is currently being constructed in northern Nevada near the Oregon border. I look forward to learning more about Syracuse and community-based work through my time with SCG!
