The purpose of this dataset is to show where Cornell University Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County (CCE) has planted trees to date (as of February 2013). This shapefile contains points that represent one geocoded tree. CCE is planting 8,500 trees with about 1,200 already planted. This dataset shows clusters of those 1,200 trees. This dataset helps CCE decide where to focus future tree planting efforts. In partnership with the Cornell University Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County (CCE), we conducted a geographic analysis of urban forestry efforts to date in Syracuse, NY. Using GIS software, we were able to successfully geocode 99.4% of the trees planted.
