I am a senior International Relations and Citizenship & Civic Engagement major and am interested in food justice issues relating to food access and food waste. I am also interested in the intersection between art and activism and the ways in which photography can be used to document the human condition and ecological issues. I first discovered the Syracuse Community Geography program through my CCE major. I am excited to be interning for the SCG program since it will afford me the opportunity to apply the things I am learning in my geography and food studies classes to community-based projects. I am looking forward to further developing my GIS and spatial analysis skills while collaborating with members of the Syracuse community to create neighborhood change. After I graduate I plan to continue studying geography and exploring community-based research in graduate school.
