Neighborhood Tree Tour Syracuse, NY

Posted: September 13, 2013    /   Created: May 24, 2013

These species maps are an example of an educational tool for the community. The goal of the maps is to encourage people to become more invested in the trees in their neighborhood by showing them the locations and types of trees planted. When people see the range of species and what the trees will look like in a few years, they may become more enthusiastic and invested in tree planting campaigns. Additionally, if CCE were to target children with their tree planting programs, they could apply for a variety of environmental education grants. Neighborhood species tour maps could be designed with CCE/Save the Rain’s colors, and pictures could be taken of existing trees in Syracuse for educational maps.
