The main purpose for these maps is to show visual relations of canopy cover, paved surfaces, and Cornell Cooperative Extension’s trees planted-to-date in Syracuse. The maps show canopy cover and paved surface cover and report the percentage of total land cover. Note: only roads and other paved surfaces were mapped so the map is not comprehensive of all impervious surfaces. A more comprehensive map of impervious surfaces would include roadways, paved surfaces, buildings and other hard surfaces.
